Managers, supervisors and team leaders who may have experience in developing their business, but who would like to increase their skills at developing their staff.
   
Aim
The aim of this course is to enable delegates to increase the productivity of their departments, by increasing the knowledge and skills of their staff.
   
Objectives
By the end of this course each delegate will be able to:

  • Explain the component parts of a systematic approach to training
  • Understand the key principles of learning
  • Identify individual learning styles
  • List the personal qualities required of a coach
  • Describe the relevant knowledge and skills required to successfully complete a given task
  • Explain how a structured personal development programme fits into the organisation's appraisal process
  • Conduct a simple personal training needs analysis
  • Set meaningful, business related objectives
  • Design a personal development plan
  • Set up a structured training accompaniment
  • Create a theme for a coaching session
  • Apply a simple, but effective, coaching technique
  • Demonstrate structured questioning to gain commitment to change
  • Use demonstration techniques with confidence
  • Support their staff as they apply their new knowledge and skills on the job
