Course Title
Successful Interviewing and Recruitment
Course Designed for
Supervisors, team leaders and managers who have received little or no formal training in
managing the turnover and recruitment of staff.
Aim
The aim of this course is to enable delegates to minimise the disruption to their business
by ensuring that they recruit the right people for the right job at the right time.
Objectives
By the end of this course each delegate will be able to:
- Design a job specification
- Design a person / employee specification
- Explain how the job and person specifications link into the
organisation's business plan
- Prepare and ask structured questions designed to
establish the range of abilities and the potential of each candidate
- Prepare the venue for the recruitment interview
- Start the interview by putting the candidate at
ease
- Explain why it is important to promote the
organisation to the candidates
- Demonstrate the verbal and non-verbal communication
skills required to conduct the interview
- Grade the candidates objectively
- Recognise and avoid the dangers of illegal
discrimination during an interview
- Establish service standards for the follow-up to
the interview
