Course Title
Management and Supervisory Skills
Course Designed for
Supervisors, team leaders and managers who have gained
experience within their role, but have received little or no formal training, and are
looking to enhance their people-management skills.
Aim
The aim of this course is to enable delegates to increase the
productivity of their departments by using a variety of management techniques to develop
the effectiveness of their staff.
Objectives
By the end of this course each delegate will be able to:
- State the principles and main roles of management
- Use active listening skills to communicate
unpopular decisions
- Design clear business and personal objectives
- Create an effective personal action plan
- Plan a systematic approach to staff development
- Identify and use the different component parts of the
coaching cycle
- Give feedback - influentially
- Consider delegation as a staff development tool
- Plan a delegated project
- Describe the psychology of motivation
- Recognise the effectiveness of different
motivational tactics
- Design an effective staff incentive programme
