Course Learning Objectives

Course Title
Preparing an Induction Programme

Course Designed for
Organisational managers and HR specialists who have a responsibility for supporting staff as they get to grips with a new job.

Aim
The aim of this course is to enable delegates to help their employees become as productive as possible, as quickly as possible in their new role.

Objectives
By the end of this course each delegate will be able to:

  • Describe the personal and corporate benefits of a professional induction programme
  • Describe the relevance of the link between the job role and the organisation's business plan
  • Successfully match the induction to both the job and the employee
  • Describe the roles of the line manager and HR in an employee induction
  • Explain the importance of matching personal and corporate values
  • Identify the main topics to include in a programme
  • Allocate each topic to one (or more) of the three stages of an induction programme
  • Plan a timetable to include the topics and activities for each week of the entire programme
  • Design a training plan to deliver these topics
  • Compile a comprehensive induction manual
  • Establish a process for the design and on-going maintenance of a Personal Development Record
  • Describe what happens after the induction programme is successfully completed
