Influencing Skills
Course Designed for
All individuals whose effectiveness is dependant upon their
ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
Aim
The aim of this course is to encourage delegates to examine
all forms of face-to-face communication, and to help them develop their skills to become
more confident and persuasive.
Objectives
By the end of this course each delegate will be able to:
- Describe the component parts of effective
communication
- Highlight the importance of creating receptivity
- Avoid the verbal and non-verbal
barriers to good communication
- Describe how behaviour and personality influence the way
people like to communicate
- Recognise and use different styles of language to
build rapport
- Project a more confident and professional image by using the
nine key skill areas
- Say "No" assertively
- Describe how to develop charisma
- Communicate more effectively on an individual and a group
basis
- Build rapport using active listening techniques
- Recognise and respond effectively to body
language signals
- Demonstrate that questions are more influential
than statements
- Use positive talking to create a receptive atmosphere
- Deal with difficult people in a positive way
