Aim
The aim of this course is to enable delegates to use a more confident approach when developing productive working relationships.

Objectives
By the end of this course each delegate will be able to:

  • Describe the component parts of effective communication
  • Highlight the importance of creating receptivity
  • Recognise and explain the differences between aggressive, assertive & passive behaviour
  • Describe the benefits of assertive behaviour
  • Use proven techniques to develop their confidence levels
  • Move from negative to positive ways of thinking & talking
  • Recognise how personal values influence behaviours, and use this knowledge when deciding how to respond to difficult behaviour
  • Explain the three steps to assertiveness
  • Demonstrate the six types of assertion
  • Plan assertive phraseology to use in different circumstances
  • Take control through positive body language techniques
  • Use an influential style of behaviour for getting ideas accepted

Duration
Two days: 9.30am - 4.30pm
